Home Sweet Home

On a very rainy day, a bolt of huge lightning struck Annie’s house. The thunder had burnt down most of the house. It was falling down and breaking apart as she watched all of her fave furniture burn into ashes. Annie’s family, including, her mom, Theresa, hardworking dad, Mike, and annoying little brother, Jake.

Annie was a seven-year-old girl, about four feet in height, she was as white as snow-white, her hair was shiny and long, all the way till her knees. She had pretty hazel cat eyes, with freckles on and near her nose.

Her family had to rush out of the house as soon as they could, they had no time to collect their valuable items unless they wanted to burn down. Luckily, dad had enough savings in the bank to buy a not-so-big house. But, by the time they found a house, they would have to live with Annie’s greedy, selfish and cunning aunt. Oh no! Aunt Clare was a high school discipline maker, but not a very good one. She would punish students by putting them in a box full of spines for about an hour and a half, it had a hole as tiny as an ant for oxygen. If the students were not disciplined, she would have them do the worst. That was the same condition on how she would treat her guests, She would make them do chores and not give them a proper place to sleep. That’s why Annie hated going to Claire’s house. But she had no other choice.

Once they reached her house they were told to keep their beloved suitcases and things on the roof, and that was also where they would sleep. Wow! That was a little rude! That night, dad contacted one of his very old, and intelligent friends for a house nearby. He was an excellent broker and would negotiate the price to very reasonable units. He told dad he did have a very big old and damaged house. Just before Mike didn’t feel the need for this house, he offered to take a look. The next bright morning, dad was ready to have a wonderful day ahead. He took off with only one intention, to buy a new safe roof to live in.

No sooner had dad reached the house than he saw this tall old dirty haunted building. Its price was very low for its size but very high for its maintenance. The walls were daubed with uneven rusty-looking cement, there was a dearth of feeling at home and it felt as if someone had eradicated the feeling of happiness. the doors were old and squeaky, the plaster was falling off the roof, the light was flickering, the cupboards were a victim of termites and there were huge creepy long skinny-legged spiders all around the house.

Dad called up mom to book an uber and come over. Mom reached our tremendous building and had the same feeling as dad. After exploring the entire house, mom wasn’t very sure if she was pleased. This house was way bigger than their old house and also cheap. Although, the interior would cost a fortune. Just then, Dad said, ‘I think we shall buy this house. It’s huge and its range is very less comparatively.’Mom still disliked dad’s idea to buy the house. After a long and heated debate, they came to a conclusion to refurbish the house.

They soon called the carpenters to revamp the furniture. They also allowed Annie and Jake to design their own rooms. Annie being a seven-year-old, went all out pink, pink walls, cushions, windows, bed sheets, bed, table, and everything else! On the other hand, Jake tried to be mature(at the age of 5) designed his room full of cars.

The next day they went shopping! The absolute fav part about buying a new home!

The home had soon become heaven. It was the most wonderful thing anyone would have seen. The sun shone brightly into the living room, making it all cozy, comfy, and safe. The grass grew bright green and the beautiful flowers would lift up anyone’s mood.

After a few days, dad got a call from the government. He was freaking out at first, but eventually figured out they had just called to pay the money dad had lost when their old house burnt down.

Annie’s house was now the prettiest house in town, and every person walking by would point to that wonderful palace-like house.
