Life – Escaping from Deadly Paws

Life – Escaping from Deadly Paws

A bird resided on a tree,
She seemed so glee.
She had pretty lavender wings,
She had a throat with colorful rings.

Beside her lay a nest,
Oh, today she had a guest.
There lay a squeaky chick,
It gave the shell a huge lick.

The bird remained astonished,
Her nightmares were finished.
The ones where her egg died,
Oh, how badly she would have cried.

She danced and sang,
Till the bell of dawn rang.
Predators filled the sky,
They would eat her chick. Oh my!

Mama Bird held her child tight,
It was very dangerous to be spotted at night.
She loved being a mother,
She’d never loved any other.

What an encouraging mom she was,
Little chick had learned to escape from deadly paws.
They would fly together often,
Until mama was buried in a coffin.

Her chick cried and cried,
She began to hide.
Hiding from the world,
She saw a herd.

Her mother flashed before her eyes,
Seemingly encouraging her to hunt more mice.

It was her youth,
She needed to make it smooth.
Live life to the fullest,
This point was her lowest,
But no, she was determined to grow,
These emotions her mother wished for her to show.

The little chick was now a mother too,
Concluding that she grew.
All day she flew,
What a wonderful life she drew.
